I build paintings one layer at a time, sometimes painting a section to completion and then moving to another. I love strong light and deep shadows---to me the combination is a metaphor for the contrast between the noisy day-to-day events and the deeper wellspring of intuition and knowledge we all strive for.
Different genres appeal to me, so my work includes landscapes, still lifes, abstracts, and figures. I live and paint in Austin, Texas where there’s an abundance of the strange, the beautiful, and the stimulating.
